Known as Sarasvati in India and Benzaiten (Benten) in Japan, this beloved goddess symbolizes wisdom, music, poetry, learning, and the flowing energy of life. As a river goddess, she also came to represent prosperity, ethical commerce, and abundance.

In this artwork, Benzaiten wears a crown of a white serpent and plays a traditional biwa, the Japanese counterpart to the Indian veena. Behind her, two dragons hold the Three Treasures of Buddhism—Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha—representing spiritual wisdom and protection.

Inspired by Mayumi Oda's childhood memories of visiting the sacred Zeniarai Benzaiten Shrine in Kamakura, this painting reflects the traditions of blessings, renewal, and the harmonious flow of prosperity.

This 12" × 20" small giclée print is reproduced from an original painting by Mayumi Oda.

A giclée (pronounced zhee-KLAY) is a museum-quality fine art reproduction created from a high-resolution digital capture of the original artwork. Each print is produced using archival pigment inks on premium, acid-free paper to preserve exceptional color, detail, and longevity.

Printed with professional 12-color archival pigment inks on pH-balanced fine art paper, this piece is designed to retain its beauty for generations, making it a timeless addition to any home or art collection.
